Vice President Joe Biden Panama bound
U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden will travel to Panama in the third week of November to meet with President Ricardo Martinelli and visit the Panama Canal expansion project said a White House statement on Friday, November 25.
Biden had to postpone a previous scheduled visit in September after a visit to Mexico, due to the crisis in Syria. He did travel to Mexico.
In his meeting with President Martinelli, Biden will discuss bilateral collaboration and emphasize mutual interest in the improvement of integration in Central America as a means to accelerate regional economic growth, said the White House.
Biden will visit the expansion works of the Panama Canal, to highlight the importance of investment in infrastructure, the statement said.
The White House said it will give more details about the trip in the coming days.
