Inside track event organizer nets $30.2 million contracts

A COMPANY that has received $30.2 million in 16 contracts from the government in the last three years is set to get another $3.3 million to organize two events against corruption.

The company Festieventos , which organized the recent XXIII Iberoamericana, event at a cost of $ 8 million, received 11.6 million for five contracts , in 2012 , $6.3 million in four contracts , and in 2011 , $12.3 million for seven projects

Most of the transactions reports La Prensa were made through abbreviated tenders for best value and  in which Festieventos was the only bidder.
Maribel Gamallo , president of the company, when asked about it said, " I would have to ask the reasons why other companies which have not come to offer their services , despite the calls made ."
Currently , the company , located on Avenida Santa Elena , plans to organize two conventions against corruption to be held in November, at a cost of $3.3 million
