Martinelli concerned about Italy

“[PRESIDENT]" Martinelli is extremely concerned about Italy," where Italian prosecutors are not like those in Panama says a former Electoral Tribunal Judge.

Gerardo Solís said Monday, October 14, that he was referring to the investigation in Italy into alleged corruption involving contracts issued by Panama to defense consortium Finmeccanica.

Solis said that judicial officials in Italy are not "dominated" by the executive branch as they are in Panama.
He said the fact that former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is immersed in a series of lawsuits shows that justice can't be bought in that country.
Berlusconi was sentenced to jail on charges of tax fraud in August.
On the Finmeccanica scandal, Attorney General Ana Belfon said the case is closed in Panama.
