Unsolved medical strike helps divert attention from bribery scandal PP leader
PROBLEMS such as the medical strike and the police intervention at the National Institute will not be resolved because President Ricardo Martinelli does not want them to be resolved says Popular Party President Milton Henríquez.
He said on Friday, October 11, that these problems are helping deflect attention from the accusations that have been made against his government in relation to corruption regarding contracts with Italian companies.
"We don't want a president who causes the medical unions and students to engage in behaviors that are detrimental to Panamanians when there are solutions to solve their problems," said Henriquez.
He said that comments by the president about this issue showed political immorality and a disrespect to the position.
"We saw the vulgarity and the nervous state the president showed," reiterated Henrique.
In a Thursday TV interview.the president was gesticulating wildly, shuffled a large bundle of papers he carried with him, used profane language and made allegations of sexual misconduct while insulting striking medical staff.
