Near finished roadway inaugurated
As the election draws closer, observers are predicting a rush to officially open projects, even if unfinished, that have been underway during the current government’s term in office.
They include in some opinions, the Panama Canal extension expected to be complete in 2015, nearly a year after President Ricardo Martinelli leaves office. The Expansion began during the term of Martin Torrijos, who launched a national referendum before the project began.
On Wednesday, September 3, Martinelli inaugurated the near finished David-Boquete Highway due for delivery November 4.
Martinelli was accompanied by PRD official Anel Flores, Secretary of State Communications Eduardo Camacho, Minister of Public Works Jaime Ford and Minister of Social Development Guillermo Ferrufino.
The 39 kilometers project adds two lanes to the road.
The president reiterated that his government has done more works in four years, than was accomplished in the previous 40 years.
He said that some politicians only talk about the bad in the government and not of the good things, but the works speak for themselves.
