30 Parque Omar trees downed, cars and roads damaged
SUDDEN HEAVY rain combined with high winds, brought down at least 30 trees in Parque Omar on Wednesday afternoon.
It also led to damage to four cars in the parking lot and to roads and pathways, and brought down overhead wiring which blocked access to the park.
A technical team from the Union Fenosa company is working with the park management restore electricity, but the park, a favorite recreational spot, beloved of walkers and joggers will be closed until the park is rehabilitated and safe for the public.
The storm also affected other parts of the city.
