Another twist in bizarre murder investigation

FOUR MURDER suspects are in jail in David, Chiriqui, another is on the run. and the prosecutor has called for more arrests in the widening investigation into the killing of a student.

Gisela Vega, the prosecutor in the Aira Guerra murder case, has asked Chiriquí First Superior Prosecutor Betzaida Pitti's Castillo to file additional charges in the case.

Vega said that there are more people who participated in the killing of the college student than the five people who have already been charged. Four of those are in custody and the other, Edwin Oldemar Avila, is a fugitive.
The prosecutor said that more evidence has to be collected from the residence of Álvaro Samudio, one of the defendants, because it is clear that this is where the murder took place.
New evidence in the case includes samples of blood collected from that house that match the DNA of the victim.
The case has taken many bizarre twists and turns. At one point the name of alleged multi-murderer Wild Bill Hobert surfaced with a report that he had heard a confession from a cell mate about how the victim was killed. Then a number of cell phone chips containing evidence disappeared and soon after the lead prosecutor was sent on four month’s leave and a replacement named.
