GRANDSTANDING OR CURRYING FAVOR? That;s the question being asked about the latest person seeking to allow the immediate reelection of President Ricardo Martinelli.

Heraclio Bustamante, a leader of the Molirena party and a spokesman for Legislator Tito Rodríguez, filed a motion on Thursday, June 27 with the Office of Citizen Participation of the National Assembly for immediate presidential re-election..

Bustamante is seeking the approval of the measure through a reform to the Constitution.
It was filed despite the fact that National Assembly President Sergio Gálvez has said that the issue cannot be filed through that office- He rejected an earlier proposal filed by PRD offical Honorio Quesada.
Bustamante said that the initiative was his own idea and has nothing to do with Rodriguez.
He said he filed it because he has seen the work done by President Ricardo Martinelli and thinks he should stay in office.
