Regional Dutch Embassy opened in Panama

A NETHERLANDS embassy for Central America opened in Panama on Monday June 24..

A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Holland chose to set up the embassy in Panama because of the advantages offered by the country for the projection of Dutch investments in the region.


The installation ceremony was attended by Foreign Minister, Fernando Nunez Fabrega, and Lillian Ploumen, Minister for Trade and Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The opening of the embassy in is the result of avisit to Holland by a delegation of senior Panamanian officials led by President Ricardo Martinelli in May and diplomatic initiatives taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says the press release.
