New hospital to be named after Martinelli

PRESIDENT Ricardo Martinelli on Friday June 14, downplayed the proposal by Panama’s Social Security to name the hospital project in Ancón after him.

"I don't care what the hospital is called," said Martinelli after the Social Security Board of Directors voted to name the hospital after the president.

Martinelli, who was touring the project said that the issue should "not diminish" the importance of the project, which is to improve health care reports La Prensa
He noted that there are many buildings in Panama that are named after people who are still alive, most notably sports stadiums.
"I am sincerely honored that this work is done for the benefit of the Panamanian people," he added.
