Panamas white angels return to duty
STRIKING NURSES ended their four day work stoppage on Friday April 26 and returned to their work stations at midnight.
The announcement came from the president of the National Nurses Association of Panama (ANEP), Espinosa Elidya following a general meeting.
She reported that on Tuesday, April 30, negotiations will start with the Minister of Health, Javier Diaz and the director of the Social Security Fund, Guillermo Sáez-Llorens.
In this new attempt to achieve a better base salary nurses intend to present a new proposal in this regard, but have given no more details.
The Ombudsman had earlier for the creation of a new dialogue between the ANEP and the country's health authorities.
More than 5,000 were involved in the work stoppage to demand better working conditions and higher salary grade. However, health officials have said the increase requested is not feasible.
