Harpy eagle returning to Summit Park
CHEYENNE, the male harpy eagle who lived and died at the Summit Municipal Park is to be succeeded by another harpy in the next three or four weeks.
The new arrival will be called "Panama and" for the first 15 days will be showcased in a cage where visitors will be able to see, at a distance, the country’s national bird . It will then be moved to the "Harpy Eagle Observatory".
Cheyenne, died on June 8, 2012, aged 51 after leg and wing problems. The harpy is in danger of extinction.
