Panamas Rivera adds another save to record total
MARIANO Rivera, the Panamanian superstar-closer added to his record list of saves on Saturday, April 20.bringing his total to 613.
Rivera logged his fifth save of the season. As the the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-3 in 11 innings.
Rivera, who is in his last season in major league baseball, worked the 11th inning, facing just four batters. He gave up a double to start the inning but retired the next three batters.
The 43-year-old right-hander has seen action in six games this season and has five saves in as many attempts. he now has a record of 613 saves in 19 seasons.
He said he has fully recovered from a knee injury that ended his season early last year.
