Panamanian marathon runners escape injury in Boston
Four Panamanians and a Venezuelan resident in Panama had already passed the Boston Marathon finishing line when the explosions that killed two people and injured dozens, took place.
The Panamanian competitors were Luis Carlos Stoute, Ricardo Ortega, Joseph Duncan and the Venzuelan Geraldine Peterson was Daniela Araujo.
Stoute told reporters that he learned of the explosions when he was already at the hotel with his family. He said that the explosions were about 50 minutes after he crossed the finish line.
