Cell phone drivers take Easter hit

Over 95,000 vehicles left Panama city during the four days of Easter and over 70,000 traveled back on Sunday, March 31, 2013.

Up to early Sunday evening, 128 traffic tickets were handed out, the majority, for talking on a cellphone while driving.

The returning traffic included scores of trucks in spite of a previously announced ban on trucks over five tons until 6 pm.
During the four days there were 144 traffic accidents with 77 injuries says the Transit Authority (ATTT)
Of these, 112 were collisions, injuring 40,  while  14 crashed with fixed object leaving nine people injured.
