Garbage fire entering 12th day

The struggle to extinguish the fire that started on March 19 at the Cerro Patacón garbage site continued on Friday, March 29.

According to a press release, a team of the garbage , (AAUD), the Panama Fire Department and members of the Urbalia company in charge of the landfill are continuing maintenance and in some cases opening topped with special foam and clay.
Work will continue until no smoke is emanating from the site
The operations are involving two fire fighting vehicles, 30 members of the Fire Department of Panama who brought foams used in the United States, a backhoe and several dump trucks.
