4.2 earthquake in Boquete

An earthquake near Boquete, Chiriqu, registering 4.2 on the Richter scale was reported at 8:41 am on Tuesday March 12.

Javier Castillo, of the civil defense agency (Sinaproc), said the agency was carrying out a survey to see if there was any damage.
Former President Mireya Moscos, who lives in Boquete, described hearing what sounded like an explosion, saying the tremor lasted for several seconds.
"The tremor is strongest I have felt," said Moscoso.
