Martinelli to lead delegation to Chavez funeral

President Ricardo Martinelli, will join other Latin American leaders at the Friday funeral of President Hugo Chavez says the Venezuelan ambassador to Panama Jorge Luis Duran.

Duran said Martinelli: "will be at the funeral" accompanied by an official delegation including , among others, by his foreign minister, Fernando Nunez Fabrega, who on Wednesday to officially offered the condolences of the Government of Panama in a ceremony at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among the activities in honor of the late president, the VenezuelanEmbassy has made available to the public until Friday, a book of condolences for "Venezuelans, Panamanians, and the foreign diplomatic corps leave their written words of condolences and solidarity" with the people and government of Venezuela, said Duran.
"There is a feeling deep sorrow and mourning not only to Venezuelans but the continent" for the death of the Bolivarian leader, and Venezuela "is calm, exemplifying democracy," said the ambaasadoe  in a telephone statement to news agency Acan-Efe.
On Wednesday, a number of people with sombre looks and  wearing armbands bearing  the Venezuelan tricolor, arrived to sign the condolence book.
