Big jump in prices at the pump
Motorists can say goodbye to Happy New Year with hefty increases in the price of fuel kicking in on Friday, January 11.
The price of a gallon of 95 octane gasoline will rise a whopping 26 cents to $4.21 a gallon and 91 octane will jump 19 cents to $3.88 according to the National Energy Secretariat.
The price of a gallon of low-sulfur diesel will climb 7 cents, to $ 3.84.
The prices are valid until Thursday January 24 and, on top of recent hikes in the cost of electricity, could have a quick effect on the cost of fresh food, and dining out.
