Six cases against CD deputies await new judge

THE NEWLY   appointed Supreme Court Judge, Jose Ayu Prado, handpicked by President Ricardo Martinelli, will inherit six proceedings against members of the Assembly who belong to the ruling party.

He will also have to handle one complaint against a PRD legislator. Al the cases are currently on the desk of Aníbal Salas, who will be replaced at year end.

Two of the seven complaints are against Manuel Cohen of Democratic Change. Others are a complaint against Edwin Zuniga (CD) another against Benicio Robinson (PRD), and two more against Ricardo Valencia and Maximino Rodriguez, both of CD.
He will also face a seventh process involving five opposition deputies: the Panameñistas Adolfo Valderrama and Jose Luis Varela, the PRD Renaul Dominguez and Ruben De Leon and Jorge Rosas, Molirena.
There are a total of 56 criminal cases against deputies distributed through the offices of the nine judges, 46 of the cases are against members of the ruling party.
