Panama mayoralty candidate hits out at incumbent

Panameñista deputy and city mayoralty candidate Jose Isabel Blandon, laid in to current Mayor Roxana Mendez on the weekend over her 2013 $109 million budget.
He claims that reduction of funds to the boards of district townships of Panama to be used directly by the mayor is a political move.
Blandon  who moved hrough the corridors of city power as unpaid advisor to dethroned mayor Bosco Vallarino, said on RPC radio on Sunday, November 25, that the city needed more money and it could be obtained, without raising taxes, by charging those who are not paying what they should pay.
Last week, Mendez said her budget was not negotiable and that it had been designed in a fair and reasonable way.
