Heavy rains, landslides, leave two dead, scores rescued

Landslides brought on by heavy weekend rain killed two people in Colon province  and caused widespread flooding in eastern and western Panama.

 States of emergency were declared in  several areas including  the districts of Arraijan and Chorrera where heavy flooding was caused by the overflow of the Caimito river.

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported ??about 94 rescues of people in the eastern districts of Panama province. More seasonal rain is expectd through November 26.
