Panama poisoning scandal claims victim 306

The death toll in Panama’s mass poisoning scandal rose to 306  with the passing of Narcisa Castillo, 78. No one has been convicted for their role in the tragedy.

Castillo  was a victim of diethylene glycol poisoning .after ingesting contaminated drugs from the Social Security Fund. Survivors and relatives of those who died have been fighting for five years for adequate support and compensation, as the number of deaths continues to climb, and others remain incapacitated. Their protests have at times led to bitter confrontations.
Gabriel Pascual, the Committee for the Right to Health and Life, confirmed that Castillo died last week, and his funeral was held last Friday in San Fernando church in Juan Diaz.
