27 universities in Panama on probation
A majority of “universities” in Panama will be on “probation” for the next year while they sort out their problems.
Meanwhile they "should and can" continue to operate normally said Panama’s National Council of Evaluation and Accreditation on Thursday October 11.
The universities have not received institutional accreditation and during the year will have to correct problems identified in the review process. The schools will then go through another review at the end of the grace period.
Of the 40 universities in the country, 27 must go through the process of evaluation and accreditation.
Some of them, Such as the University of Santa Maria La Antigua and the Technological University of Panama, have already received their accreditation..
