Families mourn slow progess of multiple murder inquiry
A year after the murder of five students in La Chorrera, their families are complaining about slow progress of investigations.
They attended a memorial mass at San. Francisco de Paula, and and expressed disappointment at the slowness of the authorities, claiming that after a year the prosecutor in charge of investigations has shelved many inquiries.. Balbino Rivas, attorney for the family of one of the victims he said they still await multiple tests considered necessary for the file, and requested from the prosecutor Sofanor Espinosa.
In solidarity with the families of the murdered university students, Chinese traders closed their businesses between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm and marched in protest through the streets to the church of San Francisco de Paula.
