Disco zone hang outs hit with big noise fines

The crackdown on noise in Panama’s disco zone continues, with fines of $5,000 apiece issued to two establishments on Calle Uruguay Bella Vista.

Panama’s own Iron Lady, Mayor Roxana Mendez, reported on Saturday Auguat 25, that two businesses were nhit with the maximum fine for excessive noise.
Thirty other area businesses remain on probation, because of flaws in security.

The noise levels and street disturbances in the early hours have led to complaints from local residents, and a tightening of liquor regulations.
