NEWSROOM – A message for those who like to comment

We welcome comments from readers as differing viewpoints often add spice to the original story. 

However, there has been a recent escalation of personal attacks on those who have put forward a point of view.

Readers have the right to express their own views on the story and to argue for or against a previous comment, but that right does not include personal abuse.

In the future, comments attacking the person or integrity of other readers will be deleted. Attack the reasoning, not  the person.

We also request that readers  be considerate in their choice of expletives.
