Sunday earthquake measured 6.6 – aftershocks likely
An earthquake of 6.6 magnitude on the Richter scale, 350 kilometers from the city of David, was recorded at 7.45 pm on Sunday, June 3.
No injuries or damage were reported says Arturo Alvarado, National Director of the Civil Protection Agency (Sinaproc).

Alvarado said citizens should remain calm and not be alarmed because after a strong earthquake aftershocks can be expected as they are necessary for the release of energy in the ground. "Panama is a seismic zone and must be prepared." he said, He pointed out that earthquakes cannot be predicted."
