Truck collision cuts off water and electrcity

Ariahan, Chorrera and  Chappira were left without drinking water on Thursday night, May 17 when an articulated truck hit a utility pole in the village of El Arado.

The crash cut off  electricity to the Laguna Alta, water treatment plant which supplies drinking water to the area.  According to reports from the Natural Gas Group, the brought down power lines.  The Director of Public Relations of the electric company said that it is difficult to specify how long the power will be off. The average daily  production of the plant is 20 million gallons of drinking water daily. Neighborhoods, were also without electricity.
