No consensus in health care dialogue
No consensus was reached between representatives of striking health care workers. the Ministry of Health, and the Social Security Service after day long talks on Friday May 18.
Father Eusebio Munoz, a Catholic Church mediator Muñoz told local media during a press conference the dialogue is not progressing because they have not been able to agree on the issue of retaliation and the s off for supporting the strike.
The leaders of the health sector unions say they have not come to a consensus or made progress in the talks because of the intransigence of the authorities of the Social Security Fund.
While Social Security said that they would join a dialogue without preconditions and would not dismiss staff after the start of the talks and to stop deducting the days in that period, Javier Diaz, director of medical services of the Social Security Fund, announced that seven officials have been dismissed since the work stoppage began Monday May 14.
