President heads list of resignation calls

Panama’s population, confused by the current political circus,  want someone to resign, but not the man fingered by President Ricardo Martinelli.

The public outcry  follows the investigations by the Prosecutor of Naples of  Italian Valter Lavítola, advisor in Panama to the conglomerate Finmeccanica and linked  by emails and wire tap  disclosures with the president and members of his family

22.1% of those surveyed by polling firmUnimer said the president, Ricardo Martinelli, should resign, compared to  only 5.1% who felt that that the vice president, Juan Carlos  Varela, should step down.

Among the ministers highlighted the is  Security Minister RaulMulino.19.2% called for his resignation.

Meanwhile, 30% said investigations should continue into the scandal in Italy and the Public Ministry (MP) of Panama.
