Panamas Foreign Minister off to Italy

President Martinelli and Raul Mulino

Jose Raul Mulino, temporary stand-in for Foreign Minister Roberto Henriquez, flew to Italy on Sunday to discuss the corruption scandal shaking the current administration.

Chancellor Roberto Henriquez is recovering in hospital in Panama from food poisoning contracted during the OAS summit in Cartegena.

Mulino is also Panama’s Security Minister but will be not be met by Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi or the undersecretary of the ministry, Martha Dassú who will be out of the country.

Instead he will meet with  a mid-level mandarin, Luigi Macotta, deputy director for Latin American affairs at the  Italian Foreign Ministry.
