Its coffee tasting time in Boquete

 Forty types of coffee have qualified for the “day of tasting,” in Boquete as part of the national competition "Best of Panama".

The event,on Thursday, April 12, is organized by the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama (SCAP) in conjunction with the  "Specialty Coffee Association of America."

Competing grain types are:  geisha, traditional and natural. Boquete is recognized as  the capital of coffee tasting. And on Thursday International tasters, will incoude Swedish, Norwegian, Taiwanese, Australian, Japanese, Greeks and Americans

The winners’ grains  will be auctioned next month via the Internet.In recent years some geisha coffees have fetched over $170 a pound.
