Seafood Market booming from 3.30 am and no price gouging
Panama’s Seafood Market on the CInta Costera opened for business at 3.30 am on Friday as hundreds of people lined up to purchase fish for Holy Friday and Easter weekend.
The market was scheduled to stay open until 7 pm. Attendance Thursday through Sunday was expected to exceed 7000.
In addition, to fish there was a rush on pulses, spices, fruits, tubers, honey and other items.
Staff of the Consumer Protection and Competition Agency (acodec), confirmed that there was no price gouging and were on hand to inform consumers of vendors with the lowest prices.
