IFF: Romantic comedy
By Katherine Monahan
The Danish film Superclasico is a romantic comedy set in Buenos Aires.
Christian(Anders W. Berthelsen) is a middle-aged man in a serious slump, flirting with alcoholism as he pines for his runaway wife Anna (Paprika Steen)and watches his wine business go down the tube. In a brave attempt to pull himself together, he flies to Buenos Aires to win his wife back, only to find her shacked up with a hot young soccer star.
A seasoned, genuinely funny perspective on how powerless we are to control love, and a visually delightful tribute to the beauty and charm of Argentina, the award-winning Superclasico is a fun film to watch. It features a tango-flavored soundtrack and great comedic performances.
Superclasico plays May 2 at the Cinemark Multicentro as part of Panamas International Film Festival. For more information and trailers, go to Entertainment>films
