Stolen canon investigation bogged down

The investigation of containers containing an historical canon stolen from  a former Spanish fortress in Colon  is still underway, with two suspects detained.

Four wheels from the railroad of 1909 were also found. When the investigation is completed the pieces will be transferred to Panama’s Cultural Institute (INAC). The investigation dragged on for  two weeks and was scheduled to restart March 6, but was again delayed.. 

The two containers were inspected only halfway, according to official reports. The Third Prosecutor of Colon is heading  the the inspection team which includes officials from the Judicial Investigation Department, the Customs Control Department and the Department of Historical Heritage. One of tye detained suspects is Panamanian, the other foreign. The stolen itmes were reported destined for Korea.
