Government flexible in dialogue Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister, Roberto Henriquez, insists the government has been flexible in the ongoing dialogue with Panama’s indigenous people who oppose mining exploration and water exploitation.

Henriquez said on Friday. March 2 that the Government of President Ricardo Martinelli has already agreed to ban mining in Ngäbe-Bugle region.. He added that the solution to the crisis which arose between the indigenous group and the government must be based on dialogue.

He emphasized that on other issues the government has made concessions to the Ngäbe Bugle.
