CARNAVAL – Cell phone addicts boost revenue pot

Drivers who decided to add cell phone chatting to the usual menu of booze, sex and noise, during Panama's pre-Lenten Carnival bash, found that the event just got more expensive.

Of the first 1,940 traffic tickets handed out on opening day, Saturday February 18, 940 were for talking on the phone while driving and that’s a $75 no, no and an over $7000 boost to government revenue
