Villamonte back behind bars after 10 hour interrogation

ANABELLE  Villamonte the former Director of Certification and Regularization of Panama’s Land Authority returned behind bars on Monday evening after  10 hours of questioning.

After intensive interrogation by prosecutors, she was again led to a cell in the Judicial Investigation Department, in Ancon.

Villamonte, a lawyer, is under investigation for crimes against the environment, related to land titling  in Hombrón Juan, in Cocle province, and  has remained in detention since December 16, the  day, the Attorney General's Joseph Ayú Prado, ordered her arrest.

Questioning began at  10:00 am and ended at 8:00 pm

Villamonte's lawyer, Wilhelmina McDonald, said that her client was able to clarify some issues about the case in which she is accused.
