Dengue death toll mounts
Dengue continues to take its toll in Panama with nine new cases admitted to medical centers and one fresh death reported on Thursday, August 25, says the Ministry of Health (MoH).
The death was a 23-year-old woman in the Nelson Gustavo Collado Hospital, in the province of Herrera.
Twenty-four patients remain in hospital, three of them in critical condition.
The cases are widely distributed across the country. Eight patients are in the Children's Specialty Hospital, five at the Social Security Hospital Hospital, eight in Santo Tomas one in the Children's Hospital, one in the National Hospital and one in the Regional Hospital of Changuinola.
