Panama presidents will need a high school diploma
Future presidents and deputy mayors of Panama will be required to have a high school education, or its equivalent.
The decision was reached by members of Panama’s National Coalition for Development on Tuesday, August 23.
The decision comes after an extensive debate on requirements to hold an elected office. The same level of education would be needed by candidates for deputy mayors.
