Metro subway work moving in on Via Espana

One of Panama’s busiest thoroughfares will face further congestion, starting August 24, when work begins  on the construction  of the  Via Argentina subway station.

 Four lanes  of Via Espanawill be closed from  57th Street east, where Banesco and Edeficio Avesa are located  to the intersection with 55th Street East adjacent to the PIEX  store.
Three temporary  access roads will be built parallel to the closed area.
 For over  than a month,  work has been going on to relocate and bury  wiring and pipes in the middle of Via Espana
A TBM (tunnel boring machine will be used to excavate a tunnel over 9.7 meters in diameter.
