Madame Thonya heading to jail
Two women pimps whose activities in Panama were exposed through a TV program ten years ago, have been ordered to jail to serve sentences totaling over six years each.
The Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) has been told by the courts to find and arrest Thonya Xiomara Hubbard, known as Madame Thonya, and Thayra De la Lastra, both previously sentenced to 76 months.
Their appeals were turned down byThe Second Court of Justice.
Hubbard's first conviction dates back to 2001when The Fourth Criminal Court imposed a three year sentence. In another trial The Fifteenth Criminal court sentenced her to 40 months. De la Lastra received the same sentences. Legal maneuvering has kept them out of jail.
Their trials followed a television program on Antena 3, which documenting the situation of young people who offered sexual favors in exchange for money.
