Metro subway work means water drought Monday
The building of Panama's metro subway is not only increasing traffic jams but creating water shortages. The pain is set to continue for two years.
Last week residents in some areas lost their water for 14 hours because of a broken water pipe in a trench where work on the subway was underway.
On Monday, August 8, there will be a planned shutdown of water in Cangrejo, and El Carmen, and shops and businesses on Via Espana, from the entrance to Via Argentina to to Via Porras.
The water authority, (IDAAN) said the closing is due to refurbishment work by for the construction of Metro Line One.
Work will start at 8 a.m. and last for 6 to 8 hours.
