Panama’s Saladino wins another gold

Panama’s Olympic Gold medalist Irving Saladino, added another a gold medal to his growing collection on Friday (July 8) jumping 8.40 meters at the the Diamond League athletic meeting in Paris.

It was his best performance this year and his first win in the Diamond League season.

The winner of a gold medal at the Beijing (China) Olympics,  Saladino made six jumps and committed two fouls..

The competition in Paris, is part of his preparation for the World Championships, to be held in South Korea in  August.

Panamanian athlete Edward Alonso did not participate in the competition. The reasons for the decision are unknown.
