Martinelli, seen as autocratic as popularity falls: poll

The erosion in  President Ricardo Martinelli's popularity continues with  the number of people who think his management rates as excellent falling to 2.7 percent in the latest poll.

Those who think  his management “bad” has risen from 8.9 percent to 30.1%.

The poll conducted by Unimer, was commissioned by La Prensa.

But his overall popularity although, it has fallen by almost  22 percentage points from a high of 85.9 in October 2009., remains the envy of  other leaders, from Greece to France  and the U.S. at 64.1 percent.  It still trails the favorable rating level of his predecessor, Martin Torrijos, after two years

Panamanians are concerned by the autocratic style of Martinelli. Two out of three believe it is authoritative. Of that group, 58.7% said theyfeel uneasy about theissue.
