Panama’s fraudulent private universities to be exposed
There often seems to be a “University” on every block in Panama, but soon they will be thinned out when the Ministry of Education releases a list of private universities not certified to issue degrees.
Minister of Education Lucy Molinar said on Telemetro Report, Tuesday, June 7, that criminal proceedings are being initiated against the learning centers which, for some time, have published misleading information and also issued certificates they were not authorized to give.
They and other centers will have to change their ways or close.
The Minister of Education recommended that before enroling students should ask the facility to provide "certification that says that the university is authorized to the career you want to choose."
