Judge orders arrest of Colombian, granted asylum in Panama

A Colombian judge has ordered the arrest of a former director of Colombia's secret police, now in Panama, for  her alleged involvement in an espionage network. including human rights violations.

Maria del Pilar Hurtado, former director of the Department of Administrative Security (DAS),  the secret police,has been accused of human rights violations

 She was granted asylum in Panama in November last year by President Ricardo Martinelli. 

The decision  of Judge Luis Fernando Ramírez,  of the Criminal Division of the Superior Court of Bogota, was announced at a public hearing of the court on Tuesday, May 24.
The Colombian foreign ministry said that they will be asking for her extradition from Panama.
