Wheels of justice grinding slowly
Allegations against each of the sitting members of Panama’s Supreme Court have been moldering away in the files of the the Credentials Committee of the National Assembly for as long as six years.
The waiting accusations include some against ex-Judges, two complaints against President, Ricardo Martinelli. Another one complaint against former president Martín Torrijos, and one against Electoral Court judge Erasmo Pinilla.
Miguel Fanovich, chairman of the commission, justifies the delay in reviewing the cases saying most of the allegations are not proven.
