Metro Bus introduction in bottom gear

The  introduction of Panama’s Metro Bus service continues to crawl along like traffic on Calle 50 during rush hour.

The promised December 18 start for the buses on the Corridor Sur was delayed until December 28. The Corridor Norte buses, scheduled for the first week in January will be delayed “a few weeks.”

The promised completion date of the introduction was recently moved back from July to August of this year.

The latest announcement by Minister of the Presidency, Demetrio Papadimitriu, did not mention a new completion date.
Meanwhile he said that Metro buses will be allowed to use the shoulders of the Corridor Sur near Atlapa at rush hours, to help smooth the flow of traffic.
